All Progressives Congress (APC) Abia chapter Chairman, Dr Kingsley Ononogbu says new entrants to the party are enhancing its chances of beating other parties in the next election.
Ononogbu disclosed this during an interview with our Correspondent in Umuahia on Friday.
He said that the door is open to anybody coming to APC who would abide by the party’s rules, regulations and procedures.
“I am optimistic that APC will be the party to beat in Abia in the years to come and that is the people’s desire.
‘If you can academically put APC manifesto and those of other parties side by side and assess them, you will come back to me with your findings”, he said.
Ononogbu said that APC as a party is like a Church which can only thrive with much members hence their open door to willing comers.
“I run a political party. APC is a political party and it is like a Church which cannot exist without members.
“APC has rules and regulations and processes and procedures.
“There are other parties, Labour Party, APGA etc and whoever in his own assessment and analysis and wisdom decides to come to APC as a member is welcome.
“He will subject himself to the rule and regulations of APC and anybody who is not ready to follow the rules and regulations and processes of the party should go and try other parties”, he said.
Ononogbu who spoke against the backdrop of the registration of Chinedum Orji, former speaker, Abia House of Assembly, said he followed the rules.
Orji resigned his membership from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) last Tuesday before joining APC in a controversial manner.
