“She was at the station yesterday that was Children’s Day and we had a special edition because we had one child around here who acted as a News Caster.

“But the Joy was short lived when we heard the news that Mrs Okoye was kidnapped when she was driving into her residence.

“The incident happened around 7 : 40 pm or 7 : 45 pm because the new ended around 7 : 40 pm and the distance from here to her destination must have taken about 10 minutes.

“Even the things she bought for her children to celebrate the day were still in the vehicle; that is how it happened and till now I have not heard anything about the kidnappers”, he said.

Nwokeocha said the devastated children of the family ran into the station after the incident happened crying for help to return their mother to them.

Another reliable source told our Correspondent that the kidnappers have made contact with the relatives of the lady and are demanding the sum of N2.7 million ransome.

The source who refused to be named for having no authority to speaks lady is yet to be released while efforts are being made to ensure her release.

Nwokeocha noted that last month a Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) Umuahia, staff, Mrs Chinenye Iwuoha was kidnapped also with their aged driver shot in the stomach by the hoodlums.
